Day Nine - Cape Horn

We departed Danco Island at 4:45 PM on Friday and sailed the dreaded Drake Passage for 39 hours.  What a welcome sight, LAND!  At 7:00 AM Sunday morning Cape Horn could be seen from the bow of the ship.  Cape Horn is an island off the southern most tip of South America.  There is a monument there that memorializes the 10,000+ sailors that have lost their life while crossing the Drake Passage.  It is considered one of the most dangerous sections of ocean in the world.  Later today we will arrive at Ushuaia, Argentina where we will spend two nights.  Ushuaia, the southern most city in the world, has been called "the end of the earth."
